In the dark arena
The race begins.
Nerves of steel
And shaking limbs.
And as the flag is dropped,
And the engines Roar,
Clouds of dust fill the air,
And the vehicles soar.
Lap after lap.
Round the bend.
Through the chicane.
Who’ll reach the end?
Cause this is all that matters.
Who will take first place?
Who will take the checkerd flag?
Who will take the race?
Now the final lap is over.
But who has won?
As the great doors are opened
In pours the sun.
And in the tower
The watcher surveys.
Don’t run for your life.
Don’t be afraid.
